CBD For Depression
Today we’re going to talk about CBD and how it can help with depression. If you have depression, you’re not alone, anxiety disorders like depression affect over 40 million Americans. And that’s just those admitting it on a survey, I know it’s much higher and I am one of those people. So first let’s take a look at what depression is. According to The Mayo Clinic, depression is “a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Also called major depressive disorder or clinical depression, it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and sometimes you may feel as if life isn’t worth living.” Let me tell you this, for some people like myself, that is a spot on description.
I have suffered from depression(and anxiety) my whole life so I 100% know that feeling. I know the feeling of not wanting to do anything all day because…what’s the point. I know the feeling that your life isn’t worth anything…so why continue? Luckily I don’t feel like that anymore because of CBD. Anxiety and depression are two of the main reasons I started Anti. CBD has drastically changed my life for the better and if you keep reading, I hope to illuminate how it can help you as well!
There aren’t many clinical studies on CBD for depression. One of the reasons is that for a very long time, scientists couldn’t study CBD because of the illegality. Now that it is legal, there will be hundreds, if not thousands of clinical studies going on to show the benefits of CBD for depression(among tons of other things). So while there aren’t many studies on CBD to heal depression, it does help you manage the signs and can supply an all-natural alternative to current anti-depressant medications. Most people experiencing depression want to prevent taking big pharma’s drugs with tons of side effects and CBD is the perfect alternative.
CBD is among the best choices on the planet when it comes to depression and is already used by millions of people with tremendous success. Research from 2014 came to the conclusion “In conclusion, more studies are necessary using CBD as an antidepressant-like drug to better understand its mechanisms of action. However, the results have been very promising, and we can conclude that CBD can become a new drug for the treatment of psychiatric disorders.”. Say what? Did you just read that right?….”and we can conclude that CBD can become a new drug for the treatment of psychiatric disorders.” Wow…so awesome!
From my own personal testimonial and hundreds of our clients, CBD is absolutely an amazing treatment for depression. For some more proof, a review in 2018 concluded “Results: CBD was shown to have anxiolytic, antipsychotic and neuroprotective properties. In addition, basic and clinical investigations on the effects of CBD have been carried out in the context of many other health conditions, including its potential use in epilepsy, substance abuse and dependence, schizophrenia, social phobia, post-traumatic stress, depression, bipolar disorder, sleep disorders, and Parkinson.” So not only can it help depression, it can help all of these other health conditions.
Untreated depression can lead to serious trouble in the patient’s everyday life by upping conflict, causing lethargy, and increasing the probability of drug addiction. But did you see what it said in that last study, CBD can help substance abuse and dependence. We have had more than one customer tell us they are using the CBD to help them get off of bad drugs like heroine or fentanyl. As stated in this 2019 study:
Acute CBD administration, in contrast to placebo, significantly reduced both craving and anxiety induced by the presentation of salient drug cues compared with neutral cues. CBD also showed significant protracted effects on these measures 7 days after the final short-term (3-day) CBD exposure. In addition, CBD reduced the drug cue–induced physiological measures of heart rate and salivary cortisol levels. There were no significant effects on cognition, and there were no serious adverse effects.
CBD’s potential to reduce cue-induced craving and anxiety provides a strong basis for further investigation of this phytocannabinoid as a treatment option for opioid use disorder.”
So it can significantly reduce the withdrawals that come from quitting drugs. It’s also been proven to raise serotonin levels which will absolutely help when you’re feeling like crap coming off a drug.
This 2018 research even suggests CBD as a fast acting anti-depressant. They say “These results indicate that CBD induces fast and sustained antidepressant-like effect in distinct animal models relevant for depression. These effects may be related to rapid changes in synaptic plasticity in the mPFC through activation of the BDNF-TrkB signaling pathway. The data support a promising therapeutic profile for CBD as a new fast-acting antidepressant drug.” More people need to be using CBD as an ANTI-depressant!!!
CBD really is the “miracle drug” and I never get tired of saying it(disclaimer…I’m not allowed to say CBD is a miracle drug haha). It helps with SO many things! I get emails every single day from people about how it has changed their lives, that’s enough proof for me but I hope that these studies/trials shine a little more “medical evidence” light on CBD for you.
